  1. Nice clean set-up. I don't like to see the plumbing and pumps but hey, the tank is spotless so who am I to argue.
  2. I think they are all the Sumatran variant but I could be wrong. Some of them have been around since 2003. They bounced from my parents tank, to my tank, to RD's tank, and now back to mine where they will stay until they die.
  3. Thanks, I got it from a guy in Vancouver a couple of years ago. Cert says OTF. OTF is a store in Singapore not sure if they bred these fish or brokered them. My guess is the latter.
  4. I just got this camera too. Still have to play with it a little.
  5. I thought this would be an easy task. Just place camera in tank and push button. Not that easy if your camera has a gold finish and your arowana wants to eat it. Not great pics but its hard to stay still, when the arowana turns and tries to eat the camera, every time you put it in the water.
  6. It looks great ! Even better with a canopy. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the doors. I think it would've been better if you carried the walnut right through or used a different type of wood in-lay in the cabinet doors instead of the glass. Still an awesome piece that anyone would be proud to put in their home. Its better than anything I've ever built. I really like the shelves on the sides. Great place to store fish food or ornaments and easy to get to the stuff at the back of the shelf with this design. Carving is uniquely awesome.
  7. mbuna yellow labs, demaisoni, acei - because the males and females are equally attractive. haps all male- because the females are dull with very few exceptions and they are far too aggressive when breeding. I've really had the urge to get back into Africans again. If only I could talk my wife into it.....good luck whatever you decide.
  8. Ahh, nothing quite compares to empty desperate feeling you have when your wife or kids tells you there is something wrong with the fish and you are a 100 mile away from home. It happens to all of us. I feel bad for you. FML indeed. You just have to look at it as an opportunity to start something new.
  9. Looks great , but I would put a black background on it. Just adds the extra effect to put it over the top. Nice work.
  10. Logs look great man. Loaches were a good score!
  11. I'm pretty sure both aros are males. They are horny teenagers. The gold tries to do it with the gourami and the red does it with the fei feng. Just need to find them some girlies. The gold has hardly eaten since DEC. The odd pellet here and there but not a crazy eater.
  12. I have loaches in all 3 of my tanks. A fish tank is not complete without loaches. In my estimation, they are one of the most compatible community fish.
  13. CL is about 7-8" . That particular one was purchased in 2003.
  14. Roseline sharks Sunshine and green phantom rays arowana and giant gourami
  15. Looks like I'll have an excuse to buy a 50 cal rifle. Now to get permission to buy a new house so I have a room large enough to display a wooly mammoth mount. HHMMM. Sorry to get off topic. Too much Wild TV. Glowing fish don't do it for me. No matter how they are created.
  16. Both of my aro tanks have 6' aquatic life programmable fixtures with 8- t5's and blue l.e.d's for night. Lots of different bulb choices so you can customize to suit your inhabitants. this guy is under bulbs with more red and purple. my gold is under more white to yellow.
  17. Clown loaches can be kept with almost anything if they are properly sized. Stay away from obvious poor choices like piranha and the more aggressive snakeheads. I have 2 tanks with loaches. My 360 gallon has rays , a giant gourami, dat , and various plecos. My 120 has roseline barbs and red rainbow.
  18. Not tanning , just a slow developer. He's the same one I got from Jay. OTF super red. I'll post some better pics next month. We are having another baby so I'm taking a month off.
  19. Definitely a good score! Pretty sweet rays.
