  1. I would say try a bunch of red onion snails they are way too slow to even have a chance to latch on to the stingrays and they are awesome for algae. The only risk is in your rays have a taste for snails they may become lunch.
  2. Ok so its the 3 layer Eheim Pro II Canister Filter and I have been having problems with it for a few months. It randomly stops push water through it but continues to run and when I went to Big Al's to get it looked at they said air is getting in somewhere so I replaced all the seals and that helped for about a week or less. It has continued to randomly stop and its gotten to the point now that it won't even fill itself with pushing the button down even mutiple times and I am forced to use a submersible filter to push water in to get it running again. I have taken it apart and cleaned literally ever piece possible but there wasn't much build up on any of it so I have no idea what is causing this to happen. I am desperate to figure out what this problem is or I am going to end up buying a new filter which I can't really afford right now. Any help is appreciated, Thanks.
  3. I got them from family pet supercentre in sherwood park and I would have taken the other two back but when I went to get the replacement male they kept the reciept so I couldn't take the other two back. The fish I usually get from they are very healthy so I was quite shocked.
  4. It is in a high traffic area but they didn't seem to be bothered by any of the movement. The mollies were biting him and I removed him as soon as I saw it but it was too late and he died shortly after. Ya I'm really not sure how running into driftwood could kill them if it happens it usually just knocks them out for a bit but they come back right away. Do you think it could be some sort of parasites?
  5. Ok so the other day I picked up a male and female wild scalare angelfish. A few days later the male killed himself by ramming himself into some driftwood so I got another replacement male. Then the female did the same thing as the first male so I was stuck with just the male. And this is quite strange but the mollys in the tank beat the second male to death and these angels weren't little angels they were quite big. Does anyone have any idea what happened here because I am very confused and now out a big chunk of cash.
  6. Motoros they are fairly small right now though.
  7. Oh ok this is all very interesting information. Well I believe she bred with the more dominant o.b peacock just about as nice as the show o.b at big als so I am very excited to see the fry.
  8. Oh ok well any ideas on where I can find those guys?
  9. That would be awesome. I have apple snails will that help at all?
  10. I have an o.b peacock with amazing pink colors marked dominant male when purchased, colors backed that up. It has about 8 egg spots and coloration of a male. I noticed the other day it is mouthbrooding is it possible that males do this or is it a guaranteed female now?
  11. Oh and does anyone know where there is any weather of horseface loaches right now?
  12. Awesome guys thanks! I have extremely fine sand as anything else is too rough on my young stingrays as they get older though I will be switching to very smooth fine gravel. I'm gonna go grab some of those loaches and snails today.
  13. Hello I currently have sand in my tank for about a month now and I am starting to worry about food and waste building up underneath the sand. I have stingrays and some botia and corys in my tanks. I'm looking for any suggestions for fish or equipment that would sift the sand so stuff wont build up in it. Thanks.
  14. Clown loaches will eat em all up if your looking for a quick easy solution with no clean up
  15. As long as you get the angel fish when they are quite small you can leave them in with the swordtails for a while until the get larger and more aggresive
