Are you going with the "herbie: design for you overflow? Its super quiet. I thought my 250gal with 90gal sump was nice but this takes the cake. Would make a really nice salt water tank :smokey:

only maxijets can be used for external application. I have tried the hagen ones and they do not work well at all. Maxijets are far more forgiving . But if you are going to build a canister you might want to use internal/external water pumps like the Mags or Ehiems.

Why go to elite when you can just go its mother store...Danny at Wai's owns elite. And if you are at wais you can go to ocean city as well.

nothing compares to ehiems, fluval fx5 cants hold 2 cents to the ehiem professional 3 and rena just dont cut it in my opinion.

I used to breed Calvus and comps for many years. I had more babies than i knew what to do with. I find it a success if you breed them in groupd. i had 1-2 males with 5-6 females. they dont form true pairs but rather breed with every female they can get a hold of. best piece of equipment is the cone shape caves and not those free standing calvus caves. I fed the brine shrimp and cyclopeeze without any deaths. I sold over a thousand healthy little ones in the last 2 years in Calgary.

I feed my Boops everything under the sink but have a staple of Nls. they get a treat a day like Mysis, Cyclopeezes, brinshrimp and bloodworms. I keep alot of the more sensitive fishes like the Xenos. ochrogenys and Callochromis Pleurospillis and they all eat Nls fine aswell as the treats. Bloat is not a desiese but a precursor to too much stress.

When I used to breed angels, Calgary water works fine... Hatch all the time. Are you sure you have a true pair and not a female/female pair??

I know that guy at Petland....hes has to sell what ever cuz they have a quota that needs to be filled...besides that i dont think he really cares. Yes they have quotas like our freindly policeman do...sad world after all.

Hi Tom, Hope you like the fronts... they usually take a week to color up nicely. For your filter it will work now but it might be a little under powered when your fronts get bigger. but thats my opinion:) I could haved sold you my canister if you really wanted it..fully cycled to

hey bozco. this is what i am using and haved been using for about a year now. Shrimp mix 50% shrimp....i buy a box for like $7.00 50% green peas or mixed frozen vegetables i stick it all in a blender with some water and blend it into a mushy mushy paste and then i bind it with agar-agar (a buck a pack) then i just let it become like jello and cut it into squares and freeze it. fish just love it and breed like crazy.

fishboy has a nice breeding pair of trio.

Theres 4 colonies now. I have a colony coming next week with a dominant male over 8 inches. Will post pics soon
