how do i sterilize these filters safely

nobody knows what this is i would really like to know

on no water change wasnt done i just emptied half my tank i had taken out all the sub and decor 2 weeks ago the tank was still cycyled and i had three fx5 with all live media in it still, sorry if my punctuation is horrid and you miss under stood me .

Melafix just killed all my adult showcase peacock cichlids tank. I took them all ever last piece of substrate and decor and treated with 50% water in my 265 and went to bed.when I woke up I lost all but 3, hundreds of dollars even a couple thousand in fish dead. I will never use this stuff again and I also have a couple friends that said they agree

no these were all brand new at one time only used in freshwater

I recently did a filter clean on my 8 fluval fx5 and in three of then one my 240 I found a viny looking plant like organism in the canisters one was full they are stuck to the walls and lids of the canister if anyone has seen them and knows what to do please pm me I'm gonna try to post images thanks

hey thanks guys very good info and ideas. my uncle and i just came up with a good point i use to have a kingsize water bed and you can bet your @$$ it weighed more then this tank so im really thinking ill be good but i think ill still do what harold said and stain a piece of plywood and put it under thanks alot guys and sorry about my bad writing

im looking to put a 240 on the main floor of my bungalo will my floor hold it or will it fall through my floor into the basement i have a 230 and 265 downsatirs but want to put my 240 upstairs if anyone can tell me what they thing that would be sweet

nice pic i used to catch those guys all the time i caught one that had to be 12 to 15 inches i hould go out and catch small frogs and feed them to him he would eat them up.

in thinking of upgrading from 265 to 500 but dont know what price i would be looking at. if anyone has an idea please contact me

well i havent done anything different and havent put any chemicals in at all. i do water changes every week i have 2 fluval fx5s running my 265gallon so thats lots of filtration. my water stinks does that do anything?

ok my 265 gallon tank is reallly stressed out right now my ALKILINATY and ph are real low and my fish are stressed right out does anyone have any suggestions please i would like to hear from you cheers
