  1. The nice thing is they breed fairly easily, at least in my tank. With zero effort I usually have at least one or two new fry every few weeks.
  2. I picked up my most recent ones from Angelfins. They're poret foam & seem very well built compared to the LFS version. Sorry, I don't have any advice for your other questions.
  3. I ordered it from Amazon.com because I had a credit and somewhere to ship it to in the US. If I didn't have the Amazon credit I would have ordered it from Angelfins.ca, which is where I got the gang valve from.
  4. It depends on your tolerance level. It is not as quiet as my canister filters, but makes less noise that a HOB or the smaller air pumps. I'd go for a canister filter if I were thinking of the bedroom... but if you like the sound of air bubbles, it might be OK in the bedroom...
  5. Just have to say, I love this pump. It's quieter than the small air pumps it replaced and I don't have as many cords to try and find outlets for. It's running to a 12 port gang valve but could probably do a lot more. Very happy with this purchase.

    Welcome to the forum.
  7. I actually had 2 plants flower. Strange. Sorry for the poor quality/ phone shot, but I thought the flower was kind of neat.

    Hello

    Welcome to the forum.
  9. Welcome to the forum. Good luck with your tank.
  10. Best results I've had are the Jager heaters. Anglefins had pretty good prices on them the last time I checked.
  11. I think the eggs are from the long-fin pepper corys I got from jvision. Cute little guys.
  12. First look in the tank tonight and there they are, cory eggs! These are the first to appear in at least 6 months. Figures they show up when I won't be around to care for them. *facepalm* Maybe they'll just hatch on their own? It would be cool to come home to baby corys.
  13. It is important to appease the insurance guys. Luckily I have someone at home, just not someone willing to do more than add fish food to a tank.
  14. Thanks for all the input. Saran wrap + tape = genius! Thanks for the tip.
  15. The problem is that my person house sitting doesn't want to deal with adding water. Maybe I can find a bribe. :P
  16. I'm going away for 2 weeks and I'm not sure what's going to happen with my tanks. I have someone to feed the fish and the lights are on a timer, but normally I do at least a 40% water change once a week as my guppy tanks are always overstocked. I'm planning to change the water before I leave but then they've got to go for 2 weeks. I'm thinking I should put them on 1/2 rations, so they will be fed every other day. I'm not sure what to do about topping up the tanks.... arg! What do you guys do? Any advice?
  17. Welcome to the forum.
  18. OK, maybe tigers, not sharks. Seriously, how am I supposed to garden while being sniped at by green tiger barbs? How are they not afraid of me? Silly creatures.
