try getting some distilled water and adding something like blackwater extrac into ice cubes and do a water change with disttilled water as well.I read this somewhere along time ago.

I know acouple of Calgary members are tryin to breed these but nothiong yet .Today I was at Big Al's and saw themin the planted show tank holy they were close to 3inches long big and fat makes me think thats the breeding size which they say took 2.5 years to grow that big .Do they really have to be that big to breed?

Keep your bills for the bulbs and keep trac of how often they burn out they should last a year mininum,if they dont there getting to hot and burning out premature which is common with t5s in aquarium lights but not regular flourescent lites.

I plan to set up a community tank in the future with Gouramis as the focal point and once they mature I would separate them and breed .Probably a 30-55 gallon with the top covered in water lettuce frogbite and duck weed with low light anubus and moss on the bottom.I was wondering how they get along with oneanother ,flames ,neons, and powderblues , chocklates , croaking . the only large one would be pearls.Would they get along okay if I bought the smallest ones first and grew them in sequence?Are they sensitive to water or more suseptble to diseases\/

I did a little reading cause out of the blue one of my angel fish got what looks like tumorous growths on or near the nostrils yeah I know fish don;t have nostrils but thats what it looks like.Its not white or cottony looks solid black and grey alittle transparent maybe fast growing.Could it be caused by interbreeding?

Well they ate the eggs or something did the day after or evening, but today both pairs laid eggs yikes .I got two breeding pairs from Harold go figure.

I bought an 40kgbag from Burnco 10 bucks , beige colored works great so far just rinse it 4-5times.

I bought 4 nice silver angels from Harold last sunday they layed about 100 eggs on the filter pipe intake .There in another 4ft tank with the other 2 angels don't know how long it will last before I move them there is also one flagfish and siamese algae eater in the tank.I was planning on makeing it another community tank with large slow moving fish not like my other 4ft with the fast feeders. If the eggs hatch successfully I'll keep it simple and grow them up, but I would like to add cory's and small pleco's after they hatch if they do .I dropped the temp down a little previously to stop them breeding but was to late it hasnt settled yet.Lots of excitement in 4days wish me luck.
