  1. I'm thinking the energy ,protein and hormones for rowth rate would be transfered over to the eggs thus a smaller fish if bred before maturity.

  4. Pretty sure there gonna lay tonight or morning the male has been cleaning a rock the last 3 days and today the female joined in the cleaning .Definatley sparks when I put them together colors really intensified on the male real quick , the female took a few days to fatten up and color beautiful.I changed the water last saturday and today 2 litres from an aged fishless tank with wood tannins think that started it plus I raised temp 2 degrees about 80F now.Question once eggs are laid should I add anything to water to prevent fungus on eggs or anything else?Yup the eggs have arrived.
  5. I think breeding fish before there fully grown stunts the females growth, what do you thinkYears ago we had an imature sisames cat that got pregnamt too early and she stayed small after birth .She was still healthy and lived a long life.
  6. I'm thinking maybe if you had a large tank it's useful or a battery of tanks all joined together .You could buy one half the size of your tank setup and run it I wouldn't want zero nitrates anyways.I want plants.Couldn't you open the valve for faster flow?
  7. That sure would save alot of work if its true hope someone else here can confirm. At those prices they better work.
  8. Well I'm really starting to like my Buffalo's there growing on me .At first they didn't impress me with there colors but they make up witth it in there curious inquisitve and shy nature .those bright blue eyes and dolphin like looks just kinds got to me.
