Welcome. Good to see other invert fans here. Ron
-
Thanks Ray. Does the ADA soil not lower your pH?
-
I like the Edsal stand I just bought. I have 3 shelves that are 6' x 2' and rated for 2000 lbs each. Cost $200 and height are adjustable.
-
Do you mind sharing your set up and water parameters? Thanks, Ron

Any news on the OEBTs?
-
I went to the one on 130th Ave SE, only a couple left.
-
Thanks Ann marie, I picked up one for a 10 gallon that I have had for a while now; the only problem is the LED I was using doesn't work with a lid so I guess I'll have to get a rimless tank for my poor light. Ron
-
Thanks for sharing Bret, I hope to get my tank set up soon so I can get my arowana. Ron
-
Congrats Hung, good to see more OEBTs being produced.

What's the best way to attach Flame moss to driftwood?
-
Were the wave tanks the ones with overflows?
-
Is this the same one that comes with the Ebi and Flora kits? If so, I agree it needs work. The intake slits are too large and would easily take in shrimp fry. I also find the flow too high and when turned down, it rattles and makes noise. Too many mods have to be made to make it effective. Ron

New mothers sometimes drop their first clutches, they'll learn and retain them soon enough.
-
Wow that's a lot of shrimp.......LOL. I don't think we can talk prices on the forums, it's probably best to PM Anna.
-
I thought I bought the last of her blonds.. Sorry re-read her email and she said “I will have more OEBTs and Blondes available” so I think she meant in the future.
-
Correct, but most breeders say their lines produce mostly Blues. I think if you breed 2 Blues together the odds of Blondes may be reduced.
-
Are you asking what are Blondes? If so, Blondes are Tigers with orange eyes that don't show any blue but can produce blues so they are a cheaper way to build up a colony.
-
Yeah I lost 7 SSS+ (Crowns and Flowers) and 1 SSS. It was weird too as my water parameters were bang on. I think it was the problem I had in all my tanks, too much flow blowing around the shrimp which in turn stressed them out.....live and learn. Just got an email from Anna and she has more OEBT (including Blondes) available.
-
Thanks, I only have the one so far. Frank would only release one to me so I could try keeping it before he would sell me a group. He didn't want me to lose a bunch like I did with my SSS+ tank, thanks for looking out for me buddy . I do believe they breed true, they are relatively new to the hobby so there isn't much info out there on them. You would need to talk to Frank Jiang to get the scoop on them. Now back to Super Tigers.......it may be time to hang another breeder box on a tank, that doesn't count as another tank, right? LOL Ron
-
Thanks Hung! I'm planning another order from Frank in a month or so so I can get a couple tankmates for my lonely Aura Blue. Anna has had good success breeding OEBTs so I tried to mimic her water parameters. When I move and have the extra room, I may set up a lower pH OEBT tank and see how it affects their breeding rate. Quite honestly I didn't even know about Super Tigers till you mentioned it.......interesting.......NO.....I can't set up anymore tanks before I move or my wife is gonna kill me. Ron

Buy a 5 gallon jug of RO and keep your water changes to a minimum as Anna suggests. I need my RO for my CRS. Here's a pic of a trio of OEBTs sharing a meal and a couple of my other blue shrimp....an Aura Blue

Small fortune. pH 7.4 Temp 71°F - 75°F (room temp) Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate ~0 GH 8° KH 5° I only estimated my hardness from a tap water test I did a while ago, I use half RO and half tap. Ron

So far so good. It's surprising how empty it seems, 30 shrimp in a 10 gallon hardly makes it look stocked at all. Ron

There are a couple "how to" videos on these types of tanks. Funny I was about to write that I would be worried about the seal breaking and making a mess but don't I have to worry about that with every aquarium...LOL Ron
