  1. I just moved my OEBTs to a new tank, getting ready for summer temps. I probably had about 200 little ones with dozens being less than 0.5 cm and dark blue already. I was going to start culling but I think I will wait for them to be of breeding size to make sure the blondes are actually blondes. Good luck with your OEBTs and BTOEs.
  2. CPO (Mexican Orange Dwarf Crayfish) do well in community and planted tanks. I have 2 tanks with hornwort and Java moss with a number of CPO and shrimp in them.
  3. I've only seen a couple baby BKK swimming around in my main tank. I found a batch of eggs attached to a moulted skin and artificially hatched them, they are growing up in a breeder box for now. I am pretty sure I just saw a baby Blue Bolt . My OEBTs are starting to take off too, I am getting about a 1/3 blondes. When I first got my OEBTs a lot looked like blondes to me but as they aged they turned blue, not dark blues but not blondes anymore. I have 10 - 12 that are dark blue at less than 1.0 cm so hopefully they will end up BTOE.
  4. Looking good. I have a bunch of berried SSS from the last order but still no little shrimplets swimming around yet. My BKK from that order have reproduced quicker....weird.

    Ada Tank

I'm a big fan of ADA, pricey though. If you are only doing a small tank, it won't get ridiculous. If you are thinking about a 48" tank (120-P), then you are looking at $4,000 and up if you go all ADA. I think their tanks are unmatched, go to Pisces and have a look at their Cube Garden tanks. If you attend Pisces planted tank seminar, you'll get a 20% off coupon valid towards ADA substrate and additives.

    Moss Balls

I'l try and find the instructions I was sent. PM me your email and I'll scan the instructions and send them to you.

    Moss Balls

Gross. I've ripped open a couple of my large moss balls by mistake as they were like ballons and thankfully never found planaria. Can Pancur C be bought at pet stores? That's what I've purchased in the past to battle planaria and hydra.
  9. I would give Dave at Concept Aquariums/Aquatics a call.
  10. I was going with an Ultima II filter vs. a sump so that was a major reason for the inline heater. Have you looked into JBJ True Temp heaters? I had the 300 watt version before I forgot to unplug it before I removed it during a tank tear down.....stinky.....bleh. Seemed like it was bang on when I checked with my temp gun.
  11. When I was going through the planning of a large tank, I had decided to go with an Aqua Logic inline heater. Alot more dough but it kept the heater out of the tank. http://www.aqualogicinc.com/products/heaters/Inline-Heater.htm
  12. Here is a link to a grading guide: http://www.planetinverts.com/crystal%20red%20shrimp%20grading%20guide.html I would agree that it is an A grade but better photos from the side would be needed to be certain. CRS and CBS have come down in price lately, you can get SSS grade CBS for $10 - $15 each and CRS for a little less.

Thanks and no....all I can hear right now is the fan I have set up to dry my carpet cause I left a valve shut in my aquaponics system so my grow bed flooded......

Had to post this as I've never seen crays eating together like this. My CPO go jeting off if another cray touches the food they are working on. They are a batch of Marbled crays that hatched a couple of days ago, they are going to town on a piece of shrimp. Really neat invert, the small female had 50+ babies.

    Bunch Of Pics

Thanks again all. Not really, this is the second round I've had them. Now they are quite easy to find here . Sorry for the crappy pic but I was trying to get a bunch in the pic, I counted 10 before I compressed the pic. I took a quick count of babies in my grow tank and got to 50 without having to search too hard. I wish I had my Blue Dwarf Cajun crayfish still, I'll try and get them again along with Chocolate Dwarves. Thanks for looking again

Thanks for the compliments guys, I took all of these pics with my Canon P&S. I am gonna try to use my wife's pro gear and see if I can get great results without frustrating myself .

That's the way the crayfish I've kept breed except for my Marbled crays who just clone themselves. Shrimp are similar but are much quicker, usually the male tackles the female and they are only locked for seconds.
  18. Hello, I had some time, so I thought I would share some pics. OEBTs feeding Super Tigers feeding CRS feeding Taiwan Bee tank feeding Nice OEBT Berried OEBT Berried RCS My CPOs have been reproducing like crazy lately, I have 3 batches of babies in a 10 gallon with a berried female whose eggs are about to hatch and another 2 berried females in my breeder tank. Berried CPO Mating CPO Thanks for looking, Ron
  19. When I had Spixi snails, the took care of the hydra but also munched on plants. Last time I had hydra, I took care of them with fenbendazole. Not sure if it's safe for your fish but was fine for shrimp.

    My Shrimp!

Nice pick up, can't wait to see what else you got.
  21. Just found these Snap-on racks at Costco. Rated for 500 lbs more per shelf and comes with 4 shelves not 3 compared to the Edsals I have bought in the past. http://reviews.costco.ca/2070-en_ca/10358664/snap-on-snap-on-4-shelf-storage-rack-reviews/reviews.htm
  22. Looking good. I think I know someone who can you some more Super Tigers.....
  23. Personally I wouldn't risk it especially with the size of the tank. You could get the guys at Concept to repair it. They are having a 20% off sale on their custom tanks tomorrow if you want to see what new will cost you.
  24. Mine started slow but is doing alright in my "no" tech set up.
  25. Hello, I am thinking of setting up a bunch of HM filters and running them off a central air pump. I will be running 10 HMFs and probably another 4 - 6 sponge filters. If anyone can suggest what model Hi-Blow I need, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Ron
