  1. Sloths seldom slalom Spains slippery slopes.

  2. laguna seems to be yielding results. At least it seems to have broken my moneywort out of its plateau. Will see what happens with the full bottle.
  3. so is there a certain kind of dry fert that is better than other?
  4. not that i can see. I think that I will have to get some excel or the like sometime soon. I did end up putting the laguna in my tank. kinda just pinched my nose and went for it. Its been two days now and no sign of ill so far. hopefully that remains that same. I think that I will keep the dosing to a min until I can get into edmonton and pick up some seachem.
  5. ditto sprucegruve like it too
  6. so awesome. now i know what it means to covet a tank
  7. Oh, i know where to get the excel in edmonton. problem is that i dont get in often enough, and when i do im usually in and out haha. I think that its just a general fert. nothing too special. I keep pretty basic plants(java ferns, anubias, moneywort), but they arent really growning at all lately (2-3months) so I just want to give them a boost since I wont likely get to the city for a few weeks. Is the dose suggesting to you that the product is quite dilluted?
  8. lol i guess I will have to keep at it then hey? the guppy fry in jacks tank kinda got me excited yesterday. I found more yet, making me wonder if I have two females and one male rather than the other way around. Jack is stoked.
  9. sweet, thanks for the advice. I really like these little guys and would like to get good at keeping/breeding them. I guess I need to prevent the death of any possible males haha. By the way, how do you go about sexing them? I assume that you have to wait for them to reach a reasonable size and what not.
  10. nice work! looks like those plans are coming along nicely
  11. has anyone got any experience with laguna fertilizers? I live in a small town and lately I havent been getting to the city too often to buy supplies. my plants are green but not growing. I used to use excel but no one here sells it. The lfs has this still for ponds called laguna plant grow. the dose is easy to get into regular tank sizes. It called for 50ml for 1000L. Just wondering if anyone had any mad horror stories to tell before I dumped it in my tank. Lfs says she uses it along with the pond guy at the hardware store (in his tank at home) but I dont know how their tanks look lol.
  12. so you have had things like guppies and platies pick on your snails? I have been batting around the idea of 'slower tank'. Inverts (ie apples, zebra snails, with some shrimp and stuff) would you think they would fare better in an environment like that? p.s. fisher gave me your recipe for the snail food, with the tums and whatnot. they seem to really like that. Have you got any experience with what kind of fish food to mix in works the best for them? I mixed some general flake and bloodworm in there. He seems to regard you as a bit of an apple wiz :P He is also who I got the snails from. 1 (still alive) female with white and purple stripes and some blues.
  13. i guess hey. Ill have to just get my butt moving on some of my other projects.
  14. hey, do you guys ever get into a lul in your hobbying? where you arent excited anymore about it and sometimes even consider shutting down? What do you do to get out of the lul?
  15. hey i have some apple snails. I had about 6 but now have 2. they seems to have dropped off for some reason. I have them in my community tank. serpeas, platys, swordtails, danios, guppies, and plants. loads of mts and the odd rhs. I feed them a snail food recipe that I got from a member that mostly consists of calcium supps and veggies. any ideas?
  16. its cuz it was too dark in his tank :P sorry to hear man.
  17. Actually, my sons tank has guppy fry now. So the move brought the fun for him too. He is super excited to have babies in his tank lol. Its fun to watch him get excited about it with me.
  18. lol yeah we moved to a different unit in the same building that we are in. basement suite to townhouse
  19. tank move was successful. The most stressful part of the move for me is now over! woohoo! Now all I can do is wait and see who gets stressed out. I kept as much water as would be left behind from a good w/c and put that same water back into the tank. that should make everything ok. Thanks again for the help y'all!
  20. Hey, so can we make galleries of pictures and stuff similar to Facebook or whatever? Rather than posting them to one continuous thread or something?
