just curious on who might have the oldest cichlid or saltwater fish in Alberta . Anybody?? HB

it's already pretty busy. one small volitan lion, a small niger trigger, one white damsel and a urchin. it's already borderline for size. what do you mean carpet surfing? do you have to totally seal the tank?

it seems the general consensus for temp. is 72 to 78, and salt 1.020 to 1.025. i run my tank at 1.023** to leave a variable for rising salt levels with evaparation and run my temp around 78. But I think everyone runs a little different and just do what works for you over time, just as long as your in the general window that people have suggested here. good luck HB **fish only tank

i know that sumps in the lfs retail for in between two and three hundred so i figure the diy approach is the only way to go. just a little homework and we will let the experiment begin.. HB

Thinking about making my own sump and overflow. Looking for suggestions and hits and misses. Also looking for a chart that indicates water pump size to aquarium size or required water flow through pump according to aquarium size. thanx HB
