  1. i should specify these are a few small daffodil brichardis (Neolamprologus pulcher) and 8 large and very much moving and roaming apples. would the buffers prevent the snails from breeding? they seem really happy otherwise, they eat, then they sleep then they move around and poop lol none of them have ventured out of the water the way the zebra nerites seem to. i've put the zebras back in the other tanks where they stay underwater. my only other options for them are a 30 gallon koi overwintering tank, or a ten gallon half empty gourami rehab tank.
  2. From reading what i can find it seems like snails should like the hard water of the rift lakes, but i'm not so sure about the salts and the pH? I would keep a proper Tanganyikan snail species in it but there are none available. They do all seem to get along in the ditches and ponds in Florida
  3. yeah but i really want the plant tools if they're in the raffle lol
  4. scratch that lol the bus goes right there! now it depends on if i can get the $35 haha
  5. Haha well i hope i can go but that mostly depends on whether or not Eugene is willing to
  6. hey i was wondering about the snail jello recipe? would you be able to send it to me please?

  7. I also saw these snails for sale at the CAS auction on the 2nd and i'm kicking myself for not finding out what they are and how they breed, and for not buying them lol does anyone have any ideas?
  8. hey this might sound odd but i'm looking for any african snails of the genus Lanistes? I don't know if you do snails i was just hoping since you import things.
  9. hey i got a pair of dragon bettas during the auction, i just wanted to let you know they're doing awesome. we have them in the 30 gallon and they love to show off for a while and then rest in the plants near the surface. they are the most beautiful bettas i've ever had lol thanks again

  10. I just got 3 apples to try my hand at breeding, one of them is really active and came out of his shell in about 3 minutes and started searching for food and eating, the other two though have been really slow to come out. I'm just hoping 3 is enough to start off. It might be a silly question but i don't have to worry about inbreeding them do i? i'm used to rodents and bearded dragons lol so i was wondering if they will end up mutated if i let them breed from just these three?
  11. http://www.applesnail.net/content/lanistes.htm
  12. i'm ok with plant eaters i'm hoping to ultimately build a population in my African tank. the only name i could find is the family "Lanistes", they come from the rift area of Africa and from what i can tell could go in a cichlid tank, the only problem is i have no idea where to find them.
  13. what about giant ramshorns?
  14. just looked up rabbit snails on google images OMG i want some! does anyone know where to get any in calgary??
