  1. If your fish has an Ick, Metroplex won't help them, Metro is intended for protozoan infection. I would suggest to get API Super Ick cure or Hikari Ich-X
  2. If you do not find anything locally, check our website: angelfins.ca. We just received a big shipment of plants. Below are a few photos of some of them.
  3. I would also recommend Eheim Fish Feeder. It is easily programmable and has a little fan that prevents the food from being spoiled by moisture.
  4. Welcome to the forum Zenin - fellow KWAS member. :-)
  5. Congratulations on your spawn Ric, your guys did a better job than ours. :-)
  6. Rams have very nice "little" personalities. It is fun to watch them. Some are brave enough to beat up an adult angelfish when they protect their eggs. Beautiful photos Ric! Our rams spawned last week and we have free swimmers now.
  7. Unfortunately, you were not in the wrong section. :-( Right now we do not have too many fish for sale. That is what happens when you start a small business, there is not much time left for breeding. But we are getting back to it. We have a batch of Orange Koi Angelfish coming and our rams spawned yesterday. So hopefully the fish section will grow soon.
  8. Hello, I found this forum thanks to Rainbowric, Jayba and jvision. I am a tropical fish breeder located in Guelph, Ontario. My hobby grew recently into a small business. My husband and I run an online store with aquarium supplies. Since we are aquarists too, we know that quality of products is an important factor. We do not sell any product that we would not use ourselves. We spent a lot of time researching and testing various fish foods. You can find on our site food from New Life Spectrum, NorthFin, Omega Sea, Repashy and California Freeze-Dried Blackworms. We also have a large selection of aquarium equipment - filters (canister, sponge, powerfilters), heaters, lights, .. We are an authorized dealer of Aqua Design Amano (ADA) - the best equipment for planted tanks. We have a large selection of live plants. We are proud to carry several Canadian products - NorthFin fish food, pleco and shrimp caves. For those of you that like breeding angelfish, I developed an Angelfish Genetics Calculator, it allows you to predict an outcome of a particular breeding. Feel free to play around with it. We are constantly searching for quality products, so if you have any in your mind and you do not see them on our website, let us know. I hope to talk to you on the forum or see you at some point on our website: angelfins.ca Thank you. Jarmila.
  9. I use Hydrogen Peroxide 3% when I am hatching angelfish eggs artificially. I add 2ml of H2O2 per gallon. I try o stay away from Methylene Blue. I hate having blue fingers for a few days and also it causes deformation of fish (bent or missing fins) if you overdose it.
  10. You can try to induce spawning by adding some of the water from the angelfish's tank to the tank cryptohero's tank after the angelfish spawn again. Fish release pheromons in the water during spawning, so adding them into a tank with "stuborn" fish can help these fish to change their mind. It will not hurt to give them some extra snack too (freeze dried blackworms)
  11. I would suggest to try Repashy Meat Pie. It is a high quality gel food and our catfish love it. The nice thing about this food is that it doesn't spoil quickly (it can stay in the tank uneaten for two days without any problem). For that reason, it is a good food for fish that likes to graze (eat only a little at once). The downside is that it requires extra work, the gel has to be made by mixing the powder with hot water and than kept in a fridge (2 weeks) or a freezer (up to one year) . If your family doesn't mind seeing fish food in the fridge, your fish should like it more than pellets, since it is more natural.
