Well, if you like the fish, then okay, enjoy it Just make sure there are no other Labidochromis in the tank that might result in further hybridization I have had some unidentified fish in the the past, I just make sure they don't breed (usually an all male mbuna tank)

Agreed, has happened to me several times over the years, now I use the metal backed thermometers, especially in my cichlid tanks. I even have a battery powered one with just a probe that goes in the tank, I move it from tank to tank when I need to know if my heaters are behaving correctly

I place the filter media in a couple of mesh bags, easy to lift out, rinse, and put back in If you want a greater flow of water, then the Rena XP series is a good choice, one lever releases both hoses, and the media baskets are easy to clean ...
