  1. If there was that many snail eggs I'm sure you would see snails. I think its something eles .
  2. Putting it in a tank with others should help it come out much more. As far as if it will eat its tank mates or try to. Its different for each fish. My big male GT wouldn't hurt a fly but his mate will try hunting every now and then. But for the most part I have found them to be ok with a large mix of tank mates.
  3. Found my new upgrade for my sump. 147 gallon sump not sure if it will fit pictures to come soon. I know its over kill but I just can't stop myself.
  4. What size tank do you have and how many fish are in it ?
  5. Yes I have a male and female and some of there offspring in there. They don't bother anyone.
  6. Just fine no problems at all even when there is mateing.
  7. Plumbed and running . Now to figure out what to do with it. For sure I'm going to get a HOT Magnum running on it . Maybe use the space for a breeding pair .
  8. Really clear water would be nice to .
  9. I was thinking that a 60 gallon sump was not enough for a 230 gallon tank so I am trying to gain better filtration and more water . The main tank is also filtered with an FX5. I do weekly min 50% water changes as well .
  10. This is what I think will work. What do you guys think I should do for the second sump ? floating bed maybe . Maybe even change how the first sump is set up .
  11. You might be on to something my first sump is off the ground and has a drilled hole at the top on one end. I could plumb it to drain into the second sump.
  12. Looking for options and opinions on adding more water capacity. I would really like to up the water capacity for a few reasons. One being the tanks stock level . two being the added ability for more/better filtration. So I am thinking bigger sump but that has a problem. My sump is in a crawl space and would be very hard to get a large tank down and in (very narrow stair well and very sharp turns) . My plan was to add another tank inline but I am thinking it will be some trial and error to get pumps to work at the same volume. Would a ball valve work to help control flow? or should I maybe look at making a plywood sump . take all the parts down and build in place .
  13. Lol right. Plant is pothos and bamboo.
  14. A few more pictures . one of a tank mate that missed the first photo shot. Some Salvini egg action and my hydroponics lol . Salvini with eggs Aquaponics trays holding the plant roots
  15. I have green terror's and one salvini available if your interested . As for the PH none of these fish are wild caught and seem very happy with my well water .

  19. Well I got a nice new camera for Christmas so it is time to make use of this journal. This is my pride and joy . I will watch this tank more then I watch the big screen in this room LOL. This tank is filtered by three filters . A 60 gallon sump (want to upgrade this to a 90) FX5 and a fluval 405 As you can see there is a big mix in this tank They are all Cichlids mix of South American and African as well as a very large size difference Biggest fish at this time is 7+ inches and the smallest is 3/4"here are some close ups of the fish in this tank. Biggest guy smallest guy That is all for now but this tank is a work in progress so stay tuned .
