  1. Those bleheri are hella cool! Was tempted to liberate a few from Golds last week while in Cowtown, but no room, time, these days for such an addition (def. next on the list tho). They make the ones at BAs here look like trash. Is there a large color variant with bleheri?? The ones marked as "rainbows" at BAs are much darker (almost solid) in color with bright markings on the fins. They are maybe half the size as the ones at Golds. Gachuas maybe???
  2. I have heard of GF, mollies, and guppies being used as feeders for marines but they are all apparently a McD's diet for marine fish. I believe mollies and ghost shrimp can actually be acclimated to SW. He should starve the moray and get him used to accepting thawed frozen foods such as silversides, krill, crabs, crays, etc.. (Might need to look into a feeding stick at first or hollow tube to blow in to simulate "swimming") Real good questions, I too have wondered this and always seem to find compromised immune system, shortened lifespan, etc.., as the answer. It sounds like bouyancy would be a big problem for SW to FW, as its normal for salties to sink like rocks when given FW dips. just my 0.02$.
  3. mmmm...fuzzy dice? Yosemite Sam mud flaps? Garden gnomes????
  4. thanks for the info canuckle, I figure I'm gonna pass on the green tex for now, given the tankmates, and keep on the lookout for a JD similar in size to my other fish. Seems a tad safer choice.
  5. mantis are very cool. are they easy to acquire or did you luck out with your reefing and discover him making noise one night?? very boss nano, looks good/nice vid!

    BEER!!!

uhh so theres gonna be no beer? welcome to AA.
  7. AKA pearlscale or green texas. anyone have any experience with these guys? Big als E-town has a batch in and i am contemplating one for my 75. Are these guys like the common Tex, regarding temperament?? Will they only reach approx 6" in size? Tankmates include a firemouth, con pair, and a salvini. Size wise and temperament seem similar and compatible, I'm just curious if hes gonna just snap one day. thanks.
  8. mmm, anyone should be able to create a pink silver. unlike a naturally uncommon coloration, the trick there is simply to feed the silver a diet high in beta carotine. sorry, i hope it doesnt seem like im busting your balls, just sharing some aro facts/opinions. again, awesome pics/fish.

    Hey AA

hey thanks everyone, Canadbis actually pointed me to this site, - great to see the av still in action here.
  10. just a juv. coloration that isn't especially common, likely a geographical variant (Colombia??). Not sure how much coloration will be retained as an adult. If I recall correctly, that particular aro was 7-8" approx. so still pretty young. Nice pickup tho, wish I had a tank suitable to house an aro.
  11. enjoy it while it lasts, you just bought a black aro. sorry, bud. sweet looking fish tho. Had me drooling when I saw it.
