I had a pleco that liked to "ride the current" from my ac500......was terribly noisy....until one day he annoyed the cat a little too much...

Well, if you want them to be clean...then go with the smooth side down, would be wicked hard to get that gunk out of the grooves. :P

Yes I am sure. He is only around 3.5" big so far and is just starting to get his adult colors.....also, is under a saltwater light, which washes out orangie tones...trust me. :P

Tom is a sciaenochromis fryeri and the pleco came from Chums. :P Tom is also from Chums.....one of my own that Nazim and Andrea babysat for me for around 6 months.
