i find sometimes keeping sub males around trouble i useually keep the alpha male with a few females (the more the merrier i alwasy say). but sometimes you need the sub male around to absorb some of the aggression to keep the heat off the females....

well look at the blue socoloffi......its pretty east to distinguish m/f. with the snow whites being true albino there is no colour diffrence.....in a book i read once it said that the males dorsil fin was pointer......sounded like a bunch of phooey to me. on your alpha male id like you to tell me how many spots r on its anal fin. count the other fishes and post your findings......than we can sort out ur fishes....i had a really hard time sexing these fish. 6 years and many many batches of snow whites.....i almost gave up.........then finally.....fry...

if their the ones you got from me 2 were male 2 were female. the only way i could tell was the female carried the eggs....... males are useually bigger. so count the little spots on the anal fin. the male will be a diffrent # from the females.......other than that good luck took me a long time to sex those fish

i had a similar story with blue peacocks

i am here to report the unbeliveable...that female that produced me with lots of fry has turned into a fully functioning male. just got a batch of fry.....im totally amazed that this happend

what is your tank temp try 76 f ....my mbuna calm down alot at that temp in a 55 gal you could add a few more fish more fish spreads the agression around lots of hiding places and set up 2 0r three rock piles a chclid can only guard 1 at a time so the others will have hiding spots

do what i did putem in a barrel and throwin a air stone.......nobody died wotked out pretty good my sis works at a tree farm and sells barrels for 20 or 40 dollars. plastic and i think there clean......

this male?? carried eggs for 3 years stopped produceing fry 3 months ago. started changing colour at that time.....alpha male died a week ago

ive got two wild bn plecos one is larger than the other....large bristles....the other has some bristles that are half the size.....the bigger one chases the littler one r they both male or is chaseing normal?
