Shayesmommy
i had This happen twice its getting quite annoying... last night i took a Cycled filter(since august) and moved it to another tank. did a water change. there is also a uncycled filter on the tank. today the ammonia is through the rough... as high as it can go? I was under the impression that if you take a used filter.. It cycles the tank almost instantly. So what could be going wrong? it is also showing very little nitrate not nitrite. Qattarra
Any fish in the tank? I don't know about "instant" but faster yes. It still goes through the spikes but usually not so high.

Sam Chicklets
Did you clean the cycled filter before you moved it? If you did that would be the problem.
Shayesmommy
never cleaned nothing. Just straight up took it out and put it in the other tank. No cleaning involved at all
