Vallisneria
I'm making a little growout tank/breeding trap out of an old AC 500 case I have laying around. My questions is about plugging the hole where the motor connects. My plan was to silicon a piece of glass to the outside of the hole. I would prefer to silicone it to the inside but on the inside there is a lip around the hole, so i dont' know if thats a good idea. So is siliconing it to the outside of the case(where the motor connects) be ok?
Vapor
If you want to put it on the inside why not use a rotary tool to make the hole a little bigger. This should remove the lip you are worried about.
werner
You could also put a temporary patch over (under?) the hole and then fill it with epoxy. Once it's set, remove the patch.

Sam Chicklets
if you still have the motor you could just stick it in the hole and fill the hole for the impeller with silicone, also cut the cord off at the side of the motor.
Vallisneria
Nope, no motor. I bought a box full of stuff at an auction a while ago and there was a ac 500 case inside. Its just the case and I didn't feel like spending all the money to buy a new motor and tubes. So i decided to make a little project
