overflow problems

Recommended Posts

Anyways every time the lights go out the fish find a way in there , and every morning i have to take him out.

I don't think he should be living there. lol

Also don't think the stress of being chased and catched is any better for him.

but it's becoming annoying more then anything.

Just wondering what others have done to stop this?

or any other ideas

Jen

Can you put a screen over the overflow?

probably. just trying to get all ideas.

If the fish did happen to make it over the screen tho, wouldn't it just dry up and die cause it landed on top of the screen. If you did just get a screen or something he might still get on top cause the water level would almost be the same as the screen.

There is about 1 inch plus a tad bit of room the fish is getting through.

I was hoping to get something that big on top that didn't restrict water flow.

Can you post a pic of the overflow? If I see it I may beable to come up with an idea for it.

We were out and we got some egg crate.

We had decided to do it somewhat that way.

But i like the screen idea. Thanks Jay and Nick for all the help.

Now for the silicone part.

Do you think an air pump will be good enough if we turn off the sump and lower the water for 24-48 hours while it dries.

And would we need to stick one in the sump to keep that water good too?

Thanks Jen

Just a thought....would any of the "slurpy" type dome lids fit? You could always cut or pper punch holes around the outer edge to allow water through and the dome would not allow the fish to rest on top ....just visualizing a possible help solution. :D

BTW BA's carries a adhesive that can be applied on a wet surface and will cure under water, I believe it's a marine product for gluing frags.
