Vallisneria
Freshwater puffers are very cool(and cute). How many could be kept ina 5g? a pair?would they have to be male/female or will 2 of any sex work together? The bioload would be too much with babies coming along - use it as a show tank - breeding you'll want 10g or better for 99% of the fish out there. I dont' see how the act of breeding will increase the bio load of the tank. I wouldnt' be leaving the fry in with the parents.
fatpuffer
Just a single puff. they make a lot of mess...two would be pushing it...more waterchange would be needed...i say two max...IMO. Do 50 percent change once a week...lots of plants and caves to hide... JS
Vallisneria
And just to be clear we are talking about the Dwarf freshwater puffer( http://home.t-online.de/home/schraml.e/21art1e.htm )right. How availiable are these puffers? I don't think i've ever seen them around(although i've never really been looking :P )

Tanked
I like the Endlers myself or perhaps a few Corydoras hastatus. Very nice pygmy Cory that will swim lower to mid tank in schools. Looks like a small Tetra. Rick
Rainmaker69
I would use it to breed snails for your Green Spotted Puffer in your new 30 gallon tank.

Vallisneria
Thanks shawn, jsut wanted to make sure i was thinking of the same fish Still not sure if i'm going to set up the tank or not. BUt i think if i do i'll go with the endlers and maybe some shrimp and heavily plant it. Would i be able to get a trio of endlers in a 5g? Now i jsut have to think of what kind of lighting to make for this tank.
