jvision Posted August 4, 2007 Report Share Posted August 4, 2007 My experience says YES. I was using it in a 10 gal planted Cherry Shrimp tank at a little over double dose. I had over 100 shrimp (started at 10) in just a few months and the plants were looking awesome! There has been some anecdotal evidence that says otherwise; however, I've spoken with a few people who thought it was Excel killing the shrimp, whe it was probably something else (copper pipes?). It's a great carbon source for smaller tanks if you don't want the hassle of DIY CO2 or the cost of a pressurized system. corrosionjerry Posted August 5, 2007 Report Share Posted August 5, 2007 Using a cheap DIY reactor is much cheaper and more effective from my expierence then using Flourish Excel....
