Was doing my weekly tank cleaning when I spotted a problem on a Silver Dollar, have not seen this before, looks like an Ulcer and in 14 hours it has gone from being all white to having the black edge around it that you can see in the picture, does any one recognize this and do you have suggestions, the tank has been running for five months with out a problem, it is a 40 gallon with a Fluval 305 temp is 81 degrees , NH3 , NO2 , NO3 are all with in normal levels.

Thanks for taking the time too read this…

SHOOT it ,Shoot it now.J/K

Looks like a wound to me Scott.

Do you have a tank to put it in by itself.

If you do than treat it with Melafix. Works good .

If not than remove your carbon in your filter , if you use carbon and treat the tank it,s in.

Treat for about seven days and than do a 50% w/c.

Hopefully that works.

If it don,t than shoot it.

Let me know how you make out.

I have had the same problem, then I figured out it was a heater burn. It did heal in time, I used about half dose of malafix for a couple days
