patrick
Well, it was day 19 today and I moved the female to a 20 gallon. She did not spit in the net or when I released her in the new tank Now to my question. Do I leave the female with the fry once she releases them or do I remove her? Will she eat her own offspring? African_Fever
She should be fine with her own offspring, at least for a couple of days.
JORG
Unsure on that as I always strip them and put the female back in her community
patrick
She is still holding in the 20 gallon. She looks pretty exhausted so I think I better let her stay for a couple of days after she releases them. I'll try to get a pic later but it's hard as she is resting on the bottom in one of the corners.
JORG
Patrick I think you should strip that female I'm unsure of your experience on doing it but it's not that hard if the female look's stressed from the move she may hold on to the fry way to long

She is still holding by the way and I think is't the 22nd day today. The full term would be 24-25 days correct? When is the best time to strip her, during the day or when she is asleep? African_Fever
Whenever it's easiest to catch her! If she's already in a 20, she should be easy to catch and strip any time. I often strip a lot of my fish at night as they're easy to catch when they're asleep, and you can have them back in the main tank before they fully wake up and know what's going on.
