jus_sum_guy
New to Dwarf cichlids, so thought I would post some pics. Any comments, suggestions or criticism about the tank and fish welcomed! 25 gallon with a trio of Double Red Cacatuoides, a pair of German blue rams, a BN pleco and 3 zebra danios Also, the female apistos have laid eggs 4 times and as of yet no fry. Could this be because of the tankmates?? Edited February 8, 2008 by jus_sum_guy
Slough Shark
Nice fish! I would guess that it is because of the tank mates that you have no new fish.
jvision
Most cichlids take a few tries to get the egg-fry thing down. They may just need some more practice. What are you using for caves? If the Apistos and rams are fighting for space, you may want to add a few more caves. I've always liked small terra cotta pots for breeding Apistos. Could this be because of the tankmates?? Apistos really like a sand substrate.... and some java moss or simular plant for the fry to feed on little critters that live in it... or a sponge filter that is seeded / if your apisto spawn...
