darkangel
Try Natures Corner. I think I paid $250.00 for mine without the solenoid ready to go, Henry was a really nice guy and even put the regulator together for me so I would'nt overwork my injured wing. Bought a whole wack of other stuff thats why I'm not too sure of the price, But it will be in that area.
Vallisneria
I also bought my co2 setup at nature's cornerstore for 250$. Mine included a milwaukee regulator(it is a regulator that comes with a solenoid, bubble counter and needle valve) and a co2 tank that came filled. Then I just use a Elite mini pump to diffuse the co2 into the tank(12$) and I bought a couple feet of airline tubing(<5$). Not sure where you got that quote but it seem very high. jvision
I too got my system from NC because it was easy and convenient... and I happen to really like the place! YOu can get it for cheaper, but you'll have to look around. You can try welding supply stores.
werner
I have a 55 and have planted in pretty heavy 10 days ago 10 days ago? Lemme guess- the CAS auction? :smokey: pH meter with selenoid shut off $160 Do you mean a pH controller? If so that's a good price. Nice to have, but you don't really need one. You can use a timer to turn the solenoid off/on with the lights. That said- you can also do without the solenoid and just run the CO2 all the time. A 55gal is just about the maximum size of tank that can still benefit from DIY CO2. You may want to give this a try first. You don't have a ton of light on there, so you may find that investing tons of $$ in a pressurized system is a bit of overkill unless you intend to upgrade the lighting too. Your red plants may suffer a bit with those light levels but they'll benefit from the CO2 addition. You will probably want to add fertilizer(s) with NPK. Lose the "water conditioners". jvision
I have a 55 and have planted in pretty heavy 10 days ago Lose the "water conditioners". Not if those "water conditioners" are Prime or something else that takes the chlorine/chloramine out of the water. If they don't do that, I agree, get rid of them. Kayen
Also will be more cost effective to use Prime instead of aquaplus, works better, and treats way more. Agreed with above, get rid of Cycle stuff, not needed.
jimired
Thanks all. I think I will upgrade the lights and canopy then first and stick with excell for a little longer. maybe Co2 next winter thanks again..
