BigA
Hey everyone. I have a 48" x 12" x 18" tank sitting empty in the house, and thought I would finally get it up and running. How hard would it be to drill it for an overflow or two and a return? I wanted to use a sump on this tank and it needs some prep. Is this something I can do at home with the right tools? Should I take it to a glass shop or tank maker to get it done?
hybrid
first off, find out if the tank is "tempered" glass.. very important !!!and when you find out that it is tempered glass, make a diy overflow.. NO DRILLING NEEDED.. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=15733 I would post pics of mine but this link explains it all.... 67 pages worth.. rocker85675
drilling a tank yourself is verry simple, check youtube and see how easy it is. even if the bottom is tempered you can still drill the top of the back. check mops.com for bits
