  1. Awesome project, Grimm. Great job!
  2. Calgary Fasteners sells the large tubes of GE SCS1200.
  3. Nice work Dan! Coming along nicely.
  4. Cool shots, Ryan! Gotta love that first one.
  5. Good point. I should have qualified that as "High TDS Tap Water = Cyanobacteria".
  6. A lot of reef keepers use RO (reverse osmosis) water or have an RO/DI (reverse osmosis/de-ionization) units installed in their homes.
  7. Tap Water = Cyanobacteria It's just a matter of time.
  8. The folks at Canreef ( http://www.canreef.com/modules/Active_Topics/index.php ) are very helpful too. Consider it as another option to save a few $$.
  9. Another thing to bear in mind......if you are keeping mouth brooders, the crushed coral has sharp edges that "can" damage eggs.
  10. Community tanks (and the varying species) take on a whole new dynamic. Even species tanks depend on the species. Mbuna can be crowded, others cannot. For Tropheus in particular, I'd be hard-pressed to find better advice than that provided by RD. Good luck with your venture into Tropheus, Brad.
  11. Source GE SCS1200 (Black). It is what the tank builders use and has higher tensile strength than even the RTV. 120 gallons can make a huge mess if not contained properly. -05- I have 3-4 of tubes I could part with. I would just charge what I paid plus the Greyhound charge to get them to you. PM me if you are interested.
  12. Check out Monster Fish Keepers. They have numerous members who have built their own tanks.
  13. I have done this with great success: Soak paper shop towels with pickling vinegar Lay them on the affected area for 45-60 minutes Scrape with single edged razor blade Rinse well Good luck.
  14. Hey Corey, You could try to recover some of your cost by selling it as a reptile enclosure. Not ideal but repairing that baby will NOT be easy. Sorry about the bad luck!
  15. It pays to spend the extra $$ on the top brands. Think about the potential for water damage and the cost of GE1200 is well worth it.
  16. Go with "limo black" window tint. It works great!
  17. We just got this adorable little girl. She is a 15 week old purebred Golden Retriever and she is SO good.
  18. Discus must be kept in groups (at least 5) to be happy and spread aggression. Even a trio will soon become one. At 10 gallons per adult, your tank is simply too small. Time to upgrade or change your stocking plans.....for the fishes sake!
  19. Nature's Corner is a must if you are in Edmonton.
