johnsmith
This was supposed to be a female Ruby Red, but as it turns out... I'm having my doubts. I don't mind though.

johnsmith
I think the NLS may have helped this guy out. I look at them all the time so I haven't noticed much of a difference, but my wife, who isn't all that interested, said in the past week or so she's noticed a huge difference in his colour. Fishy
He has some rubecen colours, cept for the yellow fins.(hard to tell with that pic) My male rub has orange color fins, with orange and purple in the body, and purple at his head. Females are grey, with black barring with yellow tips at their dorsal fins. Edited March 1, 2005 by Fishy

ace99
Looks like a poor quality ruby red male. In any one clutch of ruby reds, you will have some that are red, some that are orange, and some that are yellow. This will happen even if you have a good quality breeder male. With some good high color enhancing fish food, the fish may turn more orange but likely not too red.
