snaggle
I have some tanks that are painted I was told by some one that has tanks painted that same way that they used oven cleaner to get that paint off. Would this be safe to use on a tank if I was to mask off the top? If not what would work better then a razor blade?
randy
Depending on the type of paint used to paint the tank, oven cleaner may work BUT if it removes paint it will allso probably remove the silicone. Your best bet is a razor you can purchas a tool with a razer in it for scraping windows. Edited September 22, 2008 by randy
byte
If not what would work better then a razor blade? Try a brand new razor blade. The do get dull very quick and it really makes a huge difference. NAPA sells a package of 100 for under $10.
Guppygirl
A cheap paint scrapper can be found at Zeller's. I got one plus blades for a dollar, on Saturday. Maybe check your local one and see if they have them. One of their dollar day tools. They call it a safety scrapper-same thing. Good luck getting the paint off.
