Gnaw
Fanta...Fanta...don't you wanna.... Ahum, sorry! I've been busy with school as well. They always seem to want to slam your head into the walls at the begging of the semester. Sounds like you have a plan. Looking forward to seeing your arrangement and planting skills. thedarkstar
The skills are lacking, too many plants for such little space... It's just a cluster of Vals right now lol I really wasn't pleased with the quality of my Hygrophila rosanervig, but if it grows out it might still be alright

thedarkstar
Excuses , excuses A slight update on the tank atleast... nitrates ~10 Ammonia, off the charts, seems unusual for a planted tank to me lol
Kayen
Odd. well at least you have no fish in there. Maybe check for decaying plant matter ?
thedarkstar
Should be plenty of that, for some reason my Vals. Spiralis seem to be disintegrating. I may have dosed too much excel early on at some point.
jvision
Yep, Excel did it. I had stands of Corkscrew and Tiger Val melt to almost nothing when I overdosed Excel. The good thing was that once I got all the dead stuff out of there and just left the roots they did grow back. When dosing at the recommended levels, I didn't have a problem with Excel and Val, but once it gets over the recommended dose, I don't think Vals have a chance. thedarkstar
The problem dosing is that in a 10 G its hard to see the ml "measurements" in the cap lol so i put just a little bit in and it melted lol Edited January 28, 2009 by thedarkstar
jvision
It might not be a bad idea to use one of the pipets from a test kit or that used to come in the Seachem fert bottles.
thedarkstar
I could probably try to land one from school lol I did a large water change, will do another and once ammonia drops, I'll hook up the CO2

thedarkstar
Since we need pics, I kinda skipped quite a bit of changes within the tank... Here are the first few pics (with heater as well as the piece of wood I had wanted to use, then cut to size).
