Fishful Thinking
To show that I still love the Vics even though I didn't vote for them in my Rift Lake poll! Edited January 26, 2009 by Fishful Thinking
tydus
To show that I still love the Vics even though I didn't vote for them in my Rift Lake poll! Your fish doesn't look to be a nyererei, but instead a Haplochromis thickskin. Nice one though, he looks amazing. Fishful Thinking
Oh, I think that's what I bought it as. :well: I'm not to knowledgeable on the vics.
Slough Shark
Just a look on the cichlid-forum profiles and this fish looks more like a P. nyererei than a H. "Thick Skin". Whatever it is, it's very nice and that's a great photo too.

patrick
Looks like a Haplochromis sp. "Thick skin". If you were to give him a few females he would color up significantly. Here are a few good pictures of Pundamilia nyererei. Check out the typical barring on the sides. http://www.ciklid.org/artregister/artreg_visa_art.php?ID=190 This is how "Thick skin" normally looks like: http://www.ciklider.se/viktoria/haplochrom...hick_skin.shtml Edited January 26, 2009 by patrick
Fishful Thinking
Thanks for the compliments and info everyone. If you were to give him a few females he would color up significantly. He's enough trouble without a female getting him all riled up! tydus
I like your male thickskin, because he is a little more elongated than usual. Very cool, I would get him some females and breed him if he were mine. Good luck. :smokey:

Those fish are amazing, and I would love to find a way to read and gather the info to gain more knowledge about vics. Very cool websites they are, and very beautiful fish.
