Cichlid88
Can any of you guys identify this little guy? I noticed it a couple of weeks ago and it seems to be growing larger all the time. It as almost doubled in 10 days. I'm sure it is likely very common but I was wonderinf did I get another freebe on the live rock or is tis as big as it gets??? Cheers, Bernie
AndyL
Mmm... Glass anemone... Probably an unwanted freebie. Bubble algae too... Time for some cleaning
muck
I have one of those little anenomes as well. It hasn't gotten much bigger than a nickel so I leave it be. Like Andy says you may want to get rid of that bubble algae before it spreads to plauge proportions. Check out this thread on Canreef for more info... http://www.canreef.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.ph...ghlight=anenome

AndyL
I like tweezers personally, just have to make sure not to pop them - or you end up with a real mess (results in thousands of bubbles replacing the popped one). I've heard there's a crab (emerald?) that eats it. Andy
BlkWolfe
Ive been pulling the rock outta the tank and twisting them off like grapes. Havent had any burst but your gonna want it outta the tank just in case. Emerald crabs eat bubble algea
muck
Not all Emerald Crabs will eat Bubble Algae. Its a 50 / 50 shot that the one you buy will love the stuff.
Fireisfun
Im not sure if this is bubble algea or a Corel that came out of the live rock but any id would be helpfull http://instagr.am/p/Pp7dxUPw9O/
Vitaminz
Im not sure if this is bubble algea or a Corel that came out of the live rock but any id would be helpfull http://instagr.am/p/Pp7dxUPw9O/ Botryocladia skottsbergii has been dubbed by some as 'Red Valonia', though the implied comparison is apt only when a specimen is very young, and the grapelike bladders appear to be directly attached to the substrate. DO NOT bust the bubbles in the water! Best to take the live rock out of the tank and remove them in a pail. Jeff
Fireisfun
It was on a piece of live rock that made up part of the main structure so I used an air hose as a siphon, cut them out with a razor blade and used the hose to suck up the algea as well as any spores that might have been released. Thank you for the info
Vitaminz
Awesome, that was a good idea with the air hose! Got to watch out for bubble algae...once is spreads, it is hard to contain. I known a few people that had and outbreak and had to black out their tanks for a week, even had one friend tear down their whole setup and start over. Fireisfun
Ah they came back a little but there is a new thing. It looks like the red algea but it has an orange lip on it. Will post pictures later but It's a little hard to get one since they are pretty small and at the back of the tank
