  1. How long has the tank been setup? Do you have any pics of the stuff? Site unseen my guess would be diatoms. There is a few things you can do. 1. Increase your flow. (aiming powerheads at the problem areas will also help) 2. Add a good protein skimmer. 3. Cut back on your feeding. 4. If its a new tank it should go away over time. (part of the cycle) If you can get us more info (including water params) that would be helpful as well..
  2. Looking at it again I'd definately ID it as a Bi-Valve. They are harmless filter feeders. Look at night with a flashlight and I bet hes open and filtering water. I also have a couple that look pretty much the same in my tank.
  3. some sort of Bi-Valve or mollusk

Does anyone local culture their own Phyto?
  5. I don't know yet. I am hoping to know by getting a second opinion. How old is the Hagen Master Kit?
  6. Try to get a second opinion with a buddies test kit. Perferablely Salifert as they seem to be the most reliable.
  7. You say your params are good.. Can you post the actuals?
  8. Which test kits are you using to get your measurements?
  9. IMO spend the money for some good test kits. Salifert seems to be the most reliable.
