letsgofishn
I was downstairs last night, but didn't see the ray at the bottom of the tank. Had to look up and there he was, I thought he was done. Have you guys ever seen your ray do this?
skynoch
I was downstairs last night, but didn't see the ray at the bottom of the tank. Had to look up and there he was, I thought he was done. Have you guys ever seen your ray do this? Ya there is something wrong with your water. Check your parameters. Do a 50% waterchange and add some airstones for now. Also maybe keep the tank covered for a day or two. These are questions I'll allways ask if there are problems. What is the tank size? How many rays and what size? What is your water change schedule and how much? What is your water temp? What do you have for tankmates? What are your parameters? ammonia, nitrite, nitrate What are you using for filtering and airation? Did this happen after a waterchange? Anything new added to the tank? Do you use aged water or municipal water and what water conditioner? Sorry if some of these seem basic but it all helps Edited May 13, 2009 by skynoch

Have you guys ever seen your ray do this? You have ammonia. Trust me if your ray is still alive you have to act very fast. Get an air bubbler in there. If you have powerheads in there pointed at the surface leave them but unless you have an overflow, that is the only effective way to oxygenate a ray tank. The water surface has to break. RDFISHGUY
Use Prime to reduce toxicity. Lots of small water changes will help if this didn't happen after a water change. An air stone is a must. Hope it was just a small glitch not a major malfunction.
