chad_alyssa Posted May 20, 2009 Report Share Posted May 20, 2009 hi im new to the whole tank thing well i ahve had them befory one but never the fish i have and i ahve a few questions...my one red oscar is bitting and pushing my tiger oscar and my tiger one is bigger i ahve 3 in the tank and those to r mean to eachother i just bought the one red and one tiger and already had the one red oscar. when they get to close to eachother there tails shake can anyone tell me wat they r doing and how to hlep them...we just went to day and bought a thing to make bubbles in the water cuz they wouldnt leave the top of water and it looked like they were gasping for air and they seem fine now other then the fighting wat should i do?? thanks Alyssa Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

BettaFishMommy Posted May 21, 2009 Report Share Posted May 21, 2009 So it's a 40 gallon tank with: 1 oscar 2 silver dollar 3 tinfoil barbs... hmmm... you definitely can't keep the oscar in that size tank, and i believe the barbs get big too. the barbs grow up to 14 inches. the dollars, 6 inches. maybe you could keep the silver dollars, and nothing else, livestock wise, added to the tank, while the dollars are in residence. Well, have moved the tank and the loverly fishes, all have so far survived the move... I'll probably leave them for a week to ensure they survive.. am actually getting a new 95G tank soon, so my options have changed, but I'd discuss that in a different part of the forum I guess..
