How to sex a bosemani rainbow

It can be tricky with Bosemani rainbows but adults males should have more coloring then females and have a more arched back/body.

I also remember reading something about dorsal fin lenght in males. I'll try to find it again and post back.

Edit: Ok found it. Not sure if its true or not. Can't check as I don't keep Bosemani anymore.

If you keep species such as Boeseman's rainbowfish (Melanotaenia boesemani) or Banded rainbowfish (Melanotaenia trifasciata), sexing will be somewhat trickier, especially in younger specimens. Even in these species, there is however normally a difference in length when it comes to the first dorsal fin. If the first dorsal fin reaches the beginning of the second dorsal fin or proceeds even longer, you are most likely looking at a male rainbowfish.
