d0hb0y
Hi everyone, As the topic title states, what is an easy beginner plant that is good for Betta fish? I'm off to buy my Betta fish a new tank tomorrow and would like to add some plants to his tank. As well, what would you all recommend for a good substrate for this Betta tank with plants? It's been barely a month after I got our first tank and my wife and I are getting our second tank! Thanks in advance!!!
jvision
Floating plants are loved by Bettas. If you don't want an invasion that will migrate to all tanks you have, try to stay away from duckweed. If you can find Silvania, frogbit, watersprite, etc. they'd do great. Sand or fine gravel is fine for the tank. There are other easy plants that you can add to the substrate - Anubias, Cryptocoryne, Hornwort, etc. HTH
Shai
I second the vote for anubias and crypts. My bettas love resting on the anubias (or playing hide-and-seek under them) and they enjoy swimming between crypt leaves.
