Darren88 Posted August 20, 2010 Report Share Posted August 20, 2010 Hi i have a 120 gallon planted tank and is is being over run by snails i have tried to fix this problem and currently have 3 yoyo loaches and 2 assasin snails in the tank but they cant keep up does anyone have any suggestions that wont harm my fish or my plants? strayner Posted August 20, 2010 Report Share Posted August 20, 2010 parboil some cucumber, stick it in the tank, let it sit there for 24 hrs and pull it out at night when snails swarm it. repeat until numbers dwindle. or you can always manually remove them or crush them. Vallisneria Posted August 20, 2010 Report Share Posted August 20, 2010 Dont' fee the loaches for a few days and do the zuchini thing. Also clean out any decaying plant matter and reduce your feeding over all. A snail population can only grow as big as their food source.
