FISHLIPS Posted November 28, 2010 Report Share Posted November 28, 2010 have read they need a "cool down" time for an extended time to mach their natural habitat.......does this make them impossible to share a tank with S/A cichlids? jvision Posted November 29, 2010 Report Share Posted November 29, 2010 Most gymnos would be ideal for a non-heated tank, as they do well with a period of cooler temps. However, if you keep the tank at the cool end of 'tropical' - like 72F - for at least a few months a year, they should be good. If you're able to get F1 or further removed from the wild, they're likely to spawn with that temp range, too. I've never actually spawned Gymnos, but I've kept a few spp. and know enough about other similar spp to have an educated guess. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
