Wingin' It
I was checking in on my Cherries tonight...and I noticed a female that has way more eggs than she can comfortably carry, there is a bunch that are not tucked away in her saddle? Is this normal?
Ron
I've had a couple who have had a couple hanging out but nothing like that. She'll probably get rid of the ones she can't take care of. Knock on wood she doesn't dump them all. Is it her first clutch? I've read that a lot of first time females dump their eggs because they don't know how to take care of them. I've seen it about 5 times now with my PFR group, which really sucked but I have shrimplets swimming around so it's all good now. Wingin' It
I think it probably is her first bunch...i've already had one female dump her eggs on a moss ball a couple days ago. It really sucked to see that...but it is encouraging to see another female holding so quickly. I am fairly sure that i've got a healthy population of female to male ratio. Yay! Ron
I wouldn't worry about it, if she does drop them she'll be saddled again in a month and berried shortly after. Good luck!!!
