cdot
anybody have ideas? for water changes. where do people get theirs? i went to home depot and rona and they seem to only carry 5 gallon ones. I'm hoping for a simple white pail kind of thing, cheap in calgary thanks!
jcgd
The 5 gallon pails are what most people use. A 10 would be pretty heavy. I can't get lots and lots of 5 gallon pails from work. They were used to house dill pickels, so they need a good rinse and they smell pickly for a while, but it's mostly just vinegar and I've used them with no troubles. As many as you want for $Free.99. I do like plant clippings...
Jayba
5 gallons are plenty heavy enough most would say, a 10 gallon would be a monster. For my smaller tanks i use a hose to drain them, and a bucket to fill them. Old school
jvision
You can check your local pool. I work at one of the biggest, and we get 10g pails full of chorine. Get them to rinse with some dechlorinator (usually sodium thiosulphate) and you'll be fine. I've been using them to store sand/rocks and transport fish for a couple years now, with no problems.
