Hey, so basically I started a planted 10 gallon for my red cherry shrimps a couple weeks ago, meant to have posted some pics on here about it but didnt have the chance to so far and wasnt really sure if it was worth posting lol.

I think its my 3rd attempt at planted tanks and so far 3rd time seems to be the charm lol. But anyways last night while looking into the tank I noticed a very tiny fry swimming near the top, and a couple mins later my mom found another one, those 2 are the only ones we have found so far.

I am pretty sure they are a spawn from my zebra danios that I had put into the tank for the first week or so for cycling and I guess they enjoyed the tank more than planned. Ive attached some pics of the baby, it was very hard to take the pic, and taken from my blackberry so not the best of camera.

Thanks

lol thanks guys, and yeah dragon those are baby tears, my favorite plant in the tank but a pain in the behind as it seems that they prefer floating around instead of staying put in the substrate, almost want to silicone them to the floor lol.

Thanks avianaquatics but nawh dont really seem to be having luck with fish either, these are the first fries ive seen in a couple of months lol but my shrimps seem to be doing well lol, I think someone accidentally dropped viagra or something in the tank as I have around 10 females holding at the moment.

One question seems to be puzzling me a lot, I took out the danios at least 1-2 weeks ago, how is it that I only saw the fries recently? I would think that the eggs hatched pretty quickly, a couple days max, timing just doesnt add up. Also what are these guys eating? I put in powdered flake food almost daily, seems too big for them but maybe they find microscopic food in the plants or something?

Maybe you could put something for the baby tears to weave through on the bottom? I'd love to get one for my 10 leader. I used to have one in my room about 10 years ago. I didn't know they could be aquatic plants too. Either that or their just slight variations of each other. Same name though. I have to first see if I can care for the plants I have in my tanks now. Hopefully I won't kill them all like I usually do with plants. So far my best luck has been with Cacti. Hoping that I have better luck with aquatic plants, lol.

As for the fry, maybe the eggs were a bit dormant and hatched late? I don't have any experience with egg layers yet. The flaked food is probably too big for them. I would break off a small chunk of an algae wafer and put it in for my molly fry. They loved it, but I don't know if that would be what yours need. Perhaps some baby brine shrimp? They've probably been picking at algae an flaked food that's broken down a bit. I hope that helps a bit :)
