BettaFishMommy
how long has the tank been set up? i have a hunch you are over-cleaning, and destroying the colonies of beneficial bacteria. the 'fogging' is cloudy water, and that means the bacterial colonies are trying to re-establish themselves. when you clean your filter media (sponges, etc), do you rinse them in tap water or do you use water from the fish tank? DragonNeko
Do you know what the Nitrogen Cycle is? (someone correct me if I got the name wrong) Every new tank goes through this. Sometimes even established tanks have bacteria blooms (cloudy/milky looking water). I had another when my molly gave birth to over 50 fry (babies). If that is all it is, then don't clean or change the filter media, do small gravel vacs only, and do water changes. The water changes are what will help the most. A cycle can take 6 weeks to finish. I hope I got all of that right...I honestly forget most of the info about nitrogen cycles...and I've set up 3 tanks lol I think I need to read about it again so I don't mess up setting up my 55... Good luck with the tank!
