dekker59
Hello all, A little while back I was given a aqua medic turboflotor t1000 protein skimmer from a friend. And while I don't have any saltwater tanks, or plan to, I've read that they're really not any benifit on a freshwater tank. So, I was curious as to what something like that would be worth? I cleaned it all out, except for some of the hoses that I couldn't get into/at, and attempted to hook it up and it seems to function and move water through it though I'm not 100% sure how these things work. Any ideas? Sell it or run it with my freshwater tank? thanks
jvision
The reason skimmers don't work in FW is that the water isn't dense enough to foam. You might get it to work in a Rift Lake tank. I have no idea what your skimmer is worth. Best to check out CanReef.
