Jayba
Keep them, try and sell them, just be upfront about what they are. If they don't sell go with Jorg's suggestion. But add: 1/3 cup white wine 1/3 cup cream 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour 1 pinch ground black pepper to taste 1/4 teaspoon dried tarragon 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Cover and bake at 375 for 20 minutes. aquabrain
Cool! I know there are many different Briggs snail color varieties possible. People cross-breed different colors all the time to get new combos. Many don't fall into neat categories. Do yours look like any on this page? They sound like striped yellow to me, and the genetics make sense. Plus, there's a footnote on the above webpage: 'While most Striped Yellow snails are relatively easy to distinguish, some purple forms masquerade as Striped Yellows until they are about 1/2" big, and then they suddenly begin to darken. The stripes become more purple, and the shell base can change color. This particular "morphing" color does not have a name as it is not very common, but so far it tends to be referred to as a "Brown Purple". ' So keep them and see what they grow into. I'd love to see photos! Edited December 4, 2011 by aquabrain
rompergoddess
if you want to give up a few, I would gladly take some, to add to my blue collection I now have. I love the little guys!

BettaFishMommy
if you haven't checked out www.applesnail.net yet, i highly suggest it. there is a genetics page there that will help you decipher what your baby snails are when you plug in the parents' gene/colour mutations. Fisher
I'd go with Jorg's suggestion too. 10 snails is more than a token 6. ...and Jayba's white wine! But cream, flour and spices in the oven? I'd take snails over baked goo anyday.
