ckmullin
Hello and welcome to AA. If you had time perhaps give a small into in the new member forum so others can give you a nice proper welcome. Just guppies in the tank...or other things? for worms a sure fire cure would be Panacur. Had some planaria and that cured it quick. Panacur is a kick @$$ dewormer. this the type of worm you had seen? BillieandBrian5
Hello and Thanks, I will do that! In my 6 gallon is 5 guppies and 2 assassin snails and 2 dwarf loaches. The worms are peeking out of the anus but it does look like the picture, in my 46 gallon we have 4 guppies, 3 dalmation mollies, 2 ballon mollies, a pleco, 2 clown loaces, 4 rasbora, 2 tiger barbs, 4 bleeding heart barb, 3 panda barbs, 4 angel fish and 7 neon tetras. How and where do i get the medication.

ckmullin
panacur can be purchased from a vet only. In calgary I had to visit 4 different vet locations before I got the product...they kept dening because a prescription is usually required. I printed off some sheets that show this products use as a dewormer in an aquarium environment and the last vet agree'd to hand it over. here is a shot of what I purchased. each 1 gram pack was something like $4.00 Buy a couple so you have for other times. specific doses for an aquarium environment would be needed. ckmullin
Here are the pages which I printed off and brought along with me showing proof to the vets I'm not building some secret nuclear bomb since I don't have a prescription for the drug. The proper dose is in the articles below. arizonainverts.com/articles/UseofDewormer(Fenbendazole).html http://www.ehow.com/...a-aquarium.html http://planetinverts..._and_hydra.html http://en.wikipedia....ki/Fenbendazole http://webcache.goog...n&ct=clnk&gl=ca http://www.petplace....acur/page1.aspx Edited May 28, 2012 by ckmullin
Sprucegruve
Good idea ckmullin. I personally use levamisole HCL You can buy it from www.canadianaquatics.com They will rush ship it to you overnight, they are in Vancouver Or if you need it quicker jayba can probably sell you some lev He lives around red deer,or I can mail you some levamisole HCL But this dog dewormer seems to be safe I was just reading up about it,but I can't find a dosing formula for aquariums Edit- these worms are a plague, good luck with them When I had them I dosed twice before they were completely gone, And I dosed a third time one month later just to be sure Edited May 28, 2012 by Sprucegruve

BillieandBrian5
Hello Jayba and thank you Spoon-Face Whip-tail and ckmullin you guys have been so helpful!!! Jayba I do need it right now....I have moved all my guppies but 2 to the 6 galllon yank, but I'm sure 2 of my angel fish have it and 1 of my panda barbs, or at least they are showing signs, I need to at least treat the 46 gallon and not sure if I should treat the other one but will, i have lost only one guppie but sure the another one is on it's way out. Jayba what do you need from me to to get in touch so I can get this medication?
Fisher
I personally use levamisole HCL +1 Or if you need it quicker jayba can probably sell you some lev He lives around red deer, Here's an article on levamisole dosing penned by the infamous Jayba. Best of luck!
DragonNeko
not sure if I should treat the other one but wil It's a good idea to treat all tanks. It can be easily transferred to others. Sprucegruve described them perfectly...a plague. I've had it twice, and it made it to every tank I had at the time. The meds will kill the worms, but not the eggs, which is why you need 2-3 doses of it spread between about a 14 day period. They're a pain to get rid of, but if you follow the directions then you should be able to get rid of them. Best of luck!
BillieandBrian5
out of Levamisole HCL and Panacur , what is the best medication?
ckmullin
because I suggsted panacur, the majority here will say levamisole.
DragonNeko
The better of the two? No idea. I've used Levamisole and it worked both times, but Panacur is something I'm unfamiliar with. Though at that price, I may have to learn more about it.
