Do You Need A Venturi Pump For A Dyi Python ?

So, are you in need of a venturi pump? I found them locally @ Petsmart for $13.99.

For a review on this product, it works like a charm with no leaks. If you read the website reviews they are quite negative, ignore them. Keep in mind these venturi pump housings are plastic with plastic threads. So, when you thread it on the faucet...make sure your threads are aligned. Do that and your perfect. With any plumbing device I would recommend a couple wraps of teflon tape, so disasemble this pump and wrap all threads with the tape.

I just bought that to replace my old python one that's threads finally gave out. Works well. I like how it has a valve to reverse the flow instead of that stupid twist end that the python has.

Yes, I am using this for few months now. it has a little leak but i am happy with the performance. I recomend it

Was looking at these but does it need a special threader for the tap or does it just slide on like one of those movable apartment dishwashers?

For a standard faucet, nothing else is needed. In my case (standard faucet) just remove the faucet threaded filter cap and screw this pump on. This version does not slide on to a hose or other connector, only threaded.

I use one and have never used the tap part to empty tanks. Start a siphon, put the end into the bathtub. Easy.

Had found a great deal @ CanadianTire. Currently two different locations in Calgary sw has 5/8 black tubing for 33c a foot. This tubing fits great on this venturi pump.

So with the PetSmart pump and this tubing you saved pretty good to duplicate those expensive Python setups.
