flyfisher
Not sure where this belongs but here it goes I have a 75 watt Eheim Jager heater in my Multi tank and now the little buggers have decided it doesn't fit in to their landscaping design so they have decided to bury it.I had it laying horizontal in the back of the tank for months but now they covered in play sand so I moved it to a back corner and hung it vertically and now they have managed to bury it again about half way up the heating coils, will this kill the heater?Never a dull moment in this tank, amazing how much sand they can move in a day. ckmullin
Glass type type heater, right? If so, this is a bad idea. These are made for water with a constant current around them so they don't overheat. Being buried can cause too much heat to build up and it is possible to crack the glass. flyfisher
makes sense thanks, usually some new shells throws them off and hopefully lose interest in the heater. Edited September 17, 2013 by flyfisher
